Valentin Rieder
Role SPSN Co-Coordinator
My fascination with the human psyche began during my apprenticeship and has shaped my path ever since. At 17, while in psychotherapy, I realised what a dream it would be to one day carry out this practice myself.
I began studying psychology in 2019, and a year later my interest in psychedelics was sparked through reading research on near-death experiences. Since then, I have attended every ALPS Conference, becoming increasingly involved in the community.
My journey continued with a Master’s in Clinical Psychology at the University of Basel, where I co-founded PARAB – Psychedelic Awareness and Research Association Basel – in 2023. As part of my Master’s, I joined the Liechti Lab and contributed to the quality control of the compassionate use program. For my Master's thesis, I explored Body Destruction and Renewal Visions under DMT, under the supervision of Dr. Yasmin Schmid and PD Kurt Stocker, a topic I found profoundly fascinating.
Now, I look forward to beginning my psychotherapy training in the person-centred approach and starting my clinical practice, feeling deeply grateful to continue this journey.
